Application Guidelines
Recommended Ounces (oz): Design/Base Coat: 3-4 oz/Sq ft (ideally 4oz)
Flood Coat: 3-4 oz/Sq ft (when necessary but not required)
Preparation: Clean existing surfaces with TSP.
Sand: Thoroughly with 220 grit sandpaper.
Prime: Two thin coats of primer or epoxy
Mixing: Combine components A and B at a 1:2 ratio using a jiffy mixer.
- Mix for 1-2 minutes without incorporating air.
- Add pigments if required, ensuring uniform dispersion.
Coating: Apply with a notched squeegee and back-roll with a 1/4”-3/8” nap roller.
Recoat Timing: Recoat within 4-6 hours or after light sanding if exceeded.
Working Time: 30-35 minutes.
Curing Time: Light use after 24 hours.
Full Cure: 72 hours.
WHEN IS A CLEAR TOPCOAT NEEDED?
A separate clear POLYASPARTX™ topcoat is generally not necessary when the decorative materials are mixed directly into or created within the POLYASPARTX™ Design Coat.
However, when spray paints or other surface-applied decorative materials are used over the design coat, a clear POLYASPARTX™ topcoat should be applied afterward to encapsulate, seal, and protect those surface-applied design elements.
